My Point of View: Q4 2022

As you can imagine, there are many aspects of being a part of SouthPoint Financial Credit Union that I enjoy. At the top of the list is being able to celebrate Co-Op Month and International Credit Union Day throughout the month of October.

For more than half a century, cooperative businesses have come together to reflect on their shared principles and to educate others about the value of belonging to a cooperative.
SouthPoint is proud to be one of more than 40,000 co-ops in the United States with 350 million people, which includes you!

This year’s Co-Op Month theme, “Co-Ops Build Economic Power” is a chance to lift up the cooperative model as the best way to build an economy that empowers everyone. As businesses face inflation and supply chain challenges, cooperatives provide stability and opportunity. As employees question their role in the economy, cooperatives are creating dignified, empowering jobs with paths to ownership and wealth-building. As communities tire of rhetoric, cooperatives are creating the meaningful diversity and equity at the heart of an inclusive economy.
