A message from our CEO, Jay Gostonczik

in Newsletter

As my first address to you, I want to express my gratitude to our volunteers and Board of Directors. I am humbled and honored for the opportunity to lead SouthPoint as the next President and CEO. I also want to thank Dick Nesvold for his 31 years of dedicated service and leadership. His commitment to the cooperative principles of “people helping people” and adding value has resulted in one of the strongest credit unions in the State of Minnesota. I am excited for the opportunity to continue on the path that has been paved, and to ensure a prosperous future for your credit union.

The year has started with unprecedented times with the spread of COVID-19. Nearly each day has brought more challenges not only for the state and broader nation, but also for your credit union. We have taken unprecedented steps in order to ensure the safety and well-being of our employees, members, their families and our communities. While we have temporarily closed our lobbies, we had previously made strong investments in electronic services and are able to ensure members receive the highest quality service without disruption. Our electronic services include Webchat, Mobile Deposit, Call24 Phone Banking, Online and Mobile Banking and MoneyPass ATM network.

When our people and communities are in times of crisis, we are even more committed to supporting our members through uncertain events, and fulfilling our promise and purpose in people helping people. We want our members to know that their credit union is standing behind them, which is why we have implemented the Community First Program. The program was designed to assist members to be in a better position to recover quickly from the effects of a hardship.

Throughout this time, we have been keeping all healthcare workers and essential workers in our thoughts and wish them good health. If you’re able, please consider helping fill the blood shortage due to COVID-19 by signing up for a local blood drive. To view upcoming blood drives in your area, visit www.redcross.org and search by your zip code.

Lastly, I want to thank you for your membership and continued loyalty and trust. Through even the most difficult periods in your financial lives, we are committed to helping you achieve your financial goals and dreams!
