SouthPoint Reduces Overdraft Fees and *Eliminates* Non-Sufficient Fund Fees

in News, Newsletter

SouthPoint Financial Credit Union has reduced their Overdraft Fees and has *eliminated* Non-Sufficient Fund Fees (NSFs) resulting from any transactions made under $10 to better support their members. SouthPoint wants all their members to know that their credit union stands behind them, and with this new investment, they believe they are doing just that.

With this new investment:

  • Following an overdraft courtesy pay program that allows a credit union and bank to honor or pay for a member’s transaction that results in an account being overdrawn, the overdraft fee for SouthPoint’s Premium, Basic, and Business Checking members is being reduced from $30 to $25.
  • Following an overdraft courtesy pay program that allows a credit union and bank to honor or pay for a member’s transaction that results in an account being overdrawn, the overdraft fee for SouthPoint’s EzMoney Checking members is $15.
  • For any transaction under $10 that results in an account being overdrawn, all Non-Sufficient Fund Fees (NSFs) are eliminated.

“With the overdraft fee being reduced from $30 to $25, we estimate that our members will save over $225,000 over the next year,” SouthPoint Accounting and Support Services Manager Travis Neidecker said. “To go alongside that, with the elimination of all NSF fees resulting from any transaction made under $10, we estimate that our members will save over $100,000 over the next year.”

SouthPoint is a full-service, not-for-profit financial institution that has been serving the financial needs of members since 1936. That is why SouthPoint has taken action in reducing their Overdraft Fees and *eliminating* Non-Sufficient Fund Fees (NSFs) for their members.
