SouthPoint Financial Celebrates Grand Opening in Hutchinson
(Hutchinson, MN – September 28, 2017) – SouthPoint Financial Credit Union celebrated the opening of their sixth branch location in Hutchinson on August 28, 2017. The celebration lasted three weeks, with the Grand Opening Celebration on Thursday, September 14, 2017.
Residents of Hutchinson and the surrounding communities were notified of the branch’s Grand Opening via a postcard mailed to them in August. Each postcard had a scratch-off with a code that they were encouraged enter into a safe in the branch to win $500. Since the safe was never opened with the winning code, SouthPoint will be donating $250 to the REACH Program in Hutchinson.
Throughout the week, branch visitors were able to enjoy treats from various Hutchinson establishments including Benny’s Meat Market, Elena’s Bakery, and Below Zero. The Grand Opening Celebration on September 14th included a taco bar catered by Qdoba, live music by Michael Shynes, and bounce houses from Kid Again Inflatables. Approximately 275 people attended the Grand Opening Event.
“We are humbled by the outpouring of support for our new branch office here in Hutchinson,” said Megan Karg, Hutchinson Branch President. “The positive feedback we’ve received affirms our decision to expand our physical footprint to Hutchinson and we look forward to seeing our membership grow within the area.”
The branch lobby will be open from 8:30am – 4:30pm on weekdays and from 8:30am – noon on Saturdays. The drive up will be open from 8:30am – 5:00pm on weekdays and from 8:30am – noon on Saturdays.
The $300 million credit union, headquartered in Sleepy Eye, Minnesota, has more than 17,000 members and is the 15th largest credit union in the State. Unlike a bank, SouthPoint is a not-for-profit cooperative financial institution. Credit unions allow individuals and businesses to join and become member-owners. It is this unique distinction, setting apart credit unions from other financial institutions that could be stockholder-controlled.
