EARLY PAY & ACH CREDIT PROGRAM DETAILS – CONSUMER ACCOUNTS ONLY
Effective 11/2025
SouthPoint Financial Credit Union (SPFCU) offers Early Pay, a free service, which may allow you to access your eligible direct deposit funds up to one (1) to two (2) days early with no enrollment required. Early Pay is not guaranteed, may vary between deposits, and we may stop providing it at any time without advance notice to you.
How Early Pay Works
When SouthPoint Financial Credit Union receives notice of an incoming Automated Clearing House (ACH) credit (direct deposit) from an eligible source, SPFCU may make the funds provisionally available to you before the official effective date. Early Pay funds will be reflected in your account’s available balance. All members with eligible accounts and direct deposits are automatically included.
Provisional Payment Notice
Credit given by SPFCU to you with respect to ACH credit entry is provisional until we receive final settlement of the funds through the Federal Reserve Bank or other settlement system. If we do not receive final settlement, you are hereby notified and agree that SPFCU is entitled to a refund of the amount credited to your account, and the originator of the credit entry payment is not considered to have paid you in the amount of such entry.
Early ACH Posting Is Not Guaranteed
- Early Pay credits depend on when SPFCU receives deposit information from the originator. If SPFCU receives it early, we may post it early. If SPFCU does not, the deposit will be posted on the scheduled date. SPFCU does not control when deposit files are sent.
- Eligibility: Applies only to qualifying direct deposits, such as payroll, Social Security, government payments, and pensions. Other types of ACH credits may not be eligible.
- Early Pay service is discretionary and may be suspended or revoked at any time without prior notice.
Member Responsibility
- You are responsible for making sure funds are in your account before initiating transactions.
- If funds are posted early but later reversed, you may be responsible for any overdrafts or returned items.
How Early Pay Impacts Overdraft and Overdraft Fee
Funds received through the Early Pay service are included in your account’s available balance once they are posted. Your available balance is used to determine whether transactions will be authorized and paid, and
whether overdraft fees may apply. For instance, if Early Pay funds are posted to your account on a Wednesday and you initiate transactions that maintain a positive available balance, those transactions will be authorized and paid accordingly. In such cases, you will not incur overdraft fees or have transactions returned due to insufficient funds.
Limitations
- Not all deposits are eligible for early ACH posting.
- Not all account types are eligible for early ACH posting.
- Early availability does not change the official deposit date set by the originator.
- Funds availability may be subject to review or adjustment based on account status or regulatory compliance.
- SouthPoint Financial Credit Union is not responsible for delays in payment file transmissions from originators.
